About Elizabeth Roy

Elizabeth Roy has been honoured to serve as your Whitby Mayor for the past four years and is seeking re-election to continue the positive momentum Whitby has seen over this Council term.  For over 30 years, Elizabeth has dedicated her life to public service in Whitby and across Durham Region. She brings a collaborative, community-focused approach to leadership, one rooted in listening to residents and delivering practical results that improve everyday life.

Elizabeth was first elected to Whitby Council in 2006 as West Ward Councillor, serving until 2014. She then served as a Regional Councillor from 2014 to 2022 before being elected Mayor in 2022.
